The following full-time (38.5 hours/week) position is to be filled at September, 1st, 2024 at the Microscopy Core Facility of the University Hospital Bonn:

The position shall initially be limited for a period of 2 years before conversion to a permanent position afterwards.

The Microscopy Core Facility is part of the Bonn Technology Campus Life Sciences. We offer a broad range of microscopy technologies including widefield, confocal, and superresolution light microscopy and 2D and 3D volume electron microscopy. The Core Facility also provides assistance with image processing and analysis, and offers advanced training through practical courses and a variety of lectures.

• Participate in organizing the daily operation of the EM unit in the Microscopy Core Facility
• Counsel and accomplish scientific projects for our customers
• Assign, instruct and train scientists in the EM lab

We are seeking a highly motivated colleague for our electron microscopy unit. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with one of the following electron microscopy techniques, including immunogold labeling, correlative light and electron microscopy, array tomography, Atumtome application, FIB-SEM or SBFI of biological tissue samples. A proven history of optimizing EM techniques or approaches will be advantageous. We expect a very structured way of working and also a strong commitment to working within a team of scientists and service personnel, with the goal to provide the best possible technical and scientific standards in EM applications for the community.
